The Why & The Reason

In 2022 I partnered with Dame Sadie, Founder of Saide’s Apothecary. We met at a social event and later found ourselves aligned in work, pursuing liberation. She is a somatic practitioner who centers the “healing, wholing and holding" of Black Women and Femmes. Our work together includes creating and documenting healing rituals, recording content for online somatic courses, and partnering with other healers to offer unique body based medicine.

The mission is to help individuals remember themselves through remembering their bodies first. We have different assignments, but the same goal. Love. Freedom. Healing.

In Washington, DC the work takes shape in Restore, a healing collective for Black women and femmes. Restore has done several in person healing events and one online 10 week course. I alternate between offering bodywork, energy work, photography or journal writing workshops.

I’ve taken on the creative role when it comes to visual documentation. My work is often impromptu, with my phone, and a surrender to knowing that it is necessary to capture these unplanned moments.

Between 2024-25 we stayed on the Continent for 6 months. We were fortunate to have the  opportunity to be of service in Johannesburg and Ghana, hosting workshops and documenting the transformative sessions.

We will be leaving back out for Africa just before winter, and will continue to look for spaces to collaborate with  healers in the global communities we engage. I feel blessed beyond measure and honored to be able to move with my gifts for this purpose.

Thank you for taking the time to read, and here’s to leaning into one’s purpose.
